Money Heist season 5 is now streaming on Netflix. The first half of the season of the Netflix original series was released in September 2021. In December, Netflix released the final five episodes of Money Heist season 5.
The series is well on its way to becoming the most popular show in the world in early December. It’s easily one of the best Netflix shows, and it will likely be one of the biggest new releases of the year.
Fans are obviously wondering what’s next for these characters, the show as a whole, and if Money Heist season 6 is happening.
How many seasons of Money Heist are there?
There are currently five seasons of Money Heist streaming on Netflix, as of Dec. 3, 2021.
Will there be a Money Heist season 6?
Technically, no, there won’t be a season 6 of Money Heist. Netflix announced last year that Money Heist season 5 would be the final season of the Netflix original series.
But, it’s not all bad news.
Will there be a Money Heist spinoff?
Yes! There’s a Money Heist spinoff in the works on Netflix. It will follow the character, Berlin (Pedro Alonso), according to Deadline. It will be titled Berlin.
We don’t know what exactly the series will be about or who will be involved with the spinoff. Obviously, it will be a prequel series. We hope to see other characters from the world of Money Heist involved in the new Netflix original series.
Money Heist spinoff Berlin release date
Netflix has not announced the official release date for Berlin yet. We do know, however, that Berlin is coming to Netflix in 2023.
Netflix shared a tweet to announce the news of the spinoff and its release year prior to the release of Money Heist season 5 in December 2021.

So far, only one cast member is confirmed for Berlin, and that’s Pedro Alonso, who will be playing Berlin in the new series.

Berlin synopsis
Netflix has not shared much about Berlin, so we haven’t seen the Berlin synopsis yet. We have to imagine that it will explore his life before the heist at the Spanish Royal Mint in Money Heist.
