The Children’s Museum of the Upstate-Greenville has announced the renovation of its Prima Health Children’s Hospital–Your Healthy Body exhibit. The exhibit, sponsored by Prisma Health, opens Saturday, March 12. The exhibit features an expansive anatomy center with large, three-dimensional organs, including the heart, brain, lungs and stomach. The museum says each organ sits at approximately 9 feet tall and 8-10 feet wide. It is large enough to walk through, for both kids and parents.( The video above is from WYFF News 4 Today on Friday morning )The exhibit stretches more than 1,600 square feet on the main floor of the museum. It is specifically designed with interactive components for learning and imaginative play, the museum says. Children can go for a ride in a model ambulance and pretend to be medical professionals like doctors, nurses, and EMTs. There are also teddy bear patients and a place to scrub in for pretend surgery. In addition, there is a rock-climbing wall facing Academy Street heading into downtown Greenville. “Children will also experience a health care environment in a stress-free space in the hopes of reducing anxiety should they experience clinic settings in real life,” the museum said in a release. The Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Your Healthy Body exhibit will officially open to the public at 9 a.m., Saturday, March 12. On Friday night, the museum will host a Members Night at 5:30 p.m.
